- Ethan Barsketis - Sun, Mar 22, 2026 at 02:11 AM: Hey so the backtest has actually been one of the hardest parts of the system to design. It can pull 5-minute chart data on a multiple ticker bot with pretty high accuracy but the compute for that is huge and it takes a long time to run so right now it just runs on daily candles for stocks (hourly for crypto). It's currently more designed for swing trading strategies rather than intraday ones. A bot with many tickers over a long date range gets really slow since it simulates bar-by-bar, which is why the quick preview defaults to 30 days. Right now it's definitely still V1 with no slippage modeling and no fractional fills but for daily signal strategies it gives a solid directional read. I'm planning to up my cloud compute and add intraday granularity as the platform grows but that adds a lot of cost and I literally just can't afford the compute for that yet but hopefully I get some subscribers soon to be able to cover the cloud cost:)
