MealTab: Budget Meal Planner
MealTab is a meal planner built around your grocery budget. Instead of planning meals and hoping the total works out, you set your weekly budget, household size, diet and allergies first, and Smart Plan builds a week of meals that fits. Every recipe shows its cost per serving, the shopping list is sorted by aisle, and weekly summaries show where your grocery money goes. Live prices are available for Kroger-family stores. No accounts, no ads: your data stays on your phone. For iPhone and Android.

- leenabintmohammed200 - Thu, Oct 1, 2026 at 11:09 AM: First impression: The idea is clear right away: set a weekly grocery budget and get a meal plan that fits it. The "drag your budget and watch the plan adapt" demo is a great way to show the value. What I liked: The combination of budget + pantry + leftovers is strong. Most meal planners ignore what you already have, and using it to cut waste is a real differentiator. What I'd question: The "live grocery prices" claim is the hardest part to get right. Which stores or countries does it cover? Users outside the US may not get accurate prices, and an inaccurate total would break trust quickly. What's missing: The site says plans adapt to preferences, but doesn't mention dietary needs (vegetarian, halal, allergies) or household size. I'd also like to know how I enter what's in my pantry: manual typing, barcode scan or receipt scan? Would I use it? Yes, if the price estimates are accurate and pantry tracking is quick to maintain.
